Bowl with Bark Inclusions
Spalted Wormy Ash

As a wood purist who hates to see wood go to the firewood pile, it becomes a joy when a piece such as this is completed. It was evident from the very start that another unusual bowl was in the making when this piece of wood's worm holes, spalted color patterns and bark inclusions were exposed on the lathe. Completed on 9/14/2005, the bowl is finished with multiple coats of Tung Oil and 4 coats of Lacquer Spray, providing a long-lasting reasonably water-resistant finish.
